How MJE Is Done

How MJE Is Structured

My Journey to Excellence (MJE) is built on a simple, child-friendly structure that helps children internalise Ihsan through daily practice, emotional connection, and heartfelt communication with Allah Most High.

MJE is divided into three core components, each implemented for a short duration within the daily madrasah session:

  1. Declaration – A daily reminder of purpose and identity.
  2. Reflection – Helping children think about Allah and know Him better (Ma’rifatullah).
  3. Dua – Asking Allah Most High for all our needs.

1. Declaration – A Daily Reminder of Purpose

The Declaration is a short, powerful statement recited at the beginning of madrasah. It sets the tone for the day, reminding children of who they are, why they are learning, and Who they are striving to please.

How It Works:

  • At the start of class, a teacher selects one student to stand and read the Declaration aloud.
  • The rest of the class repeats it sentence by sentence, allowing every child to internalise its meaning.
  • This daily repetition strengthens identity, intention, and focus before learning begins.

Aim & Objective:
The Declaration acts as an anchor for the children, helping them begin each day with clarity, sincerity, and a heart turned towards Allah. It sets the tone for learning by building the intention that everything is done for Allah Most High.

  • Implementation: Daily at the start of madrasah (approx. 5 minutes).

2. Reflection – Helping children think about Allah and know Him better (Ma’rifatullah).

This part helps children build a close and meaningful relationship with Allah. Reflection means thinking about Allah by looking at the world around us and the blessings He has given. This helps children recognise Him, feel thankful, and grow in love and obedience.

What is Reflection?

Reflection means pausing to think about Allah by observing creation and recognizing the blessings He has bestowed. Through this practice, children learn to recognize Him, cultivate gratitude, and develop a profound love and obedience to Allah.

The Journey of the Heart: From Observation to Love

Observation → Awareness → Recognition → Love

  • Observation: By observing creation, children become aware of Allah's presence in the world.
  • Awareness: This awareness naturally leads them to remember Allah more often in their daily lives.
  • Recognition (Ma'rifatullah): As they recognize His power, beauty, and care through His creation, they begin to truly know Him.
  • Gratitude: Noticing His countless blessings awakens a sense of deep thankfulness.
  • Love (Mahabbatullah): Gratitude blossoms into a deep, abiding love for Allah—the ultimate purpose of reflection.

The Heart's Transformation

Through reflection, children gradually develop:

  • A living awareness that Allah sees, hears, and knows everything.
  • Recognition of Allah's majesty and mercy in all of creation.
  • A grateful heart that acknowledges His blessings.
  • A genuine love for Allah that motivates their actions and choices.
  • A sense of comfort, trust, and deep reliance upon Him.

This emotional and spiritual awakening forms the heart of true Ihsan—living with the constant awareness that Allah is always with us.

Key Messages for Children:

  • 🌿 "Ma'rifatullah: Reflection helps me see the signs and greatness of Allah everywhere."
  • 💙 "Mahabbatullah: This brings love for Allah into my heart."
  • 🌙 "Ihsan means living as though Allah is always with me."

In Summary:

Reflection (Ma'rifatullah) should lead to love of Allah (Mahabbatullah), transforming how children see themselves, their world, and their relationship with their Creator.

  • Implementation: Daily, integrated into one of the lessons (approx. 5–10 minutes).

Aim & Objective:

The ultimate purpose of Reflection  is to guide children beyond mere awareness of Allah to develop a deep, genuine love for Him (Mahabbatullah). Through this love, children naturally desire to live in a way that is pleasing to Allah—making obedience and excellence not a burden, but a joy flowing from the heart.

When children truly know and love Allah, they:

  • Naturally seek to please Him in all their actions.
  • Develop gratitude that transforms their perspective on life.
  • Build a personal, intimate relationship with their Creator.
  • Find comfort and peace in remembering Him throughout their day.

Implementation: Daily, integrated into one of the lessons (approx. 5–10 minutes).

3. Dua – The Heartbeat of Connection

The final component of MJE teaches children to turn to Allah for everything—whether big or small. Dua becomes a natural habit, not just a formal ritual.

When a child develops a real connection with Allah Most High, making dua becomes easy, comforting, and meaningful. They learn that Allah listens, cares, and responds. Dua becomes their first resort, not their last.

Through regular practice, children begin to:

  • Ask Allah for help in their studies, friendships, and daily challenges.
  • Thank Allah for His blessings.
  • Share their hopes, worries, and dreams with Him.
  • Feel close to Allah through sincere, heartfelt dua.

Aim & Objective:
The objective of Dua is to help a child understand that after knowing and loving Allah, they should turn to Him alone for all their needs, help, and guidance. It teaches the child that no one can truly help except Allah Most High.

Through regular practice, the child develops the habit of making dua naturally and sincerely in daily life. This builds reliance (tawakkul), trust, and dependence upon Allah, forming an essential foundation for living with Ihsan—the awareness that Allah is always near, always listening, and always responding.
